June marks the start of hurricane season, bringing an increased risk of severe storms, flooding, and high winds across our region. Even though Frederick County isn’t coastal, we still feel the impact — and having a strong volunteer fire and rescue force is essential to keeping our community safe.

This is when our volunteer firefighters and EMTs step up the most, responding to weather‑related emergencies, supporting storm preparedness, and helping residents when conditions turn dangerous.

If you’ve been thinking about volunteering, now is the perfect time. With training provided and flexible opportunities to serve, you can make a real difference when your community needs you most.

Join Frederick County Volunteer Fire & Rescue today — your neighbors are counting on you.
