“On August 10, 2024 the Fire Service lost a valuable member of our family" stated Instructor Timothy Shelton. "This individual gave everything he had to this Service and never passed up a chance to take a moment to share his wisdom and knowledge with anyone." Instructor Shelton had the honor for many years to serve side by side with this individual, so at the beginning of this year’s high school work-based learning program he reached out to his wife to let her know we were dedicating this year’s program to him and many more.
This year the new internship award was created, The John Carnegis Academic Achievement Award, by Trish and Zoe Carnegis in memory of their late husband and father, respectively. This award is for any Volunteer Intern who is undoubtably dedicated to learning the craft, outstanding performance, commitment to excellence and a “No Surrender, No Defeat” attitude. This plaque will be hung at the Frederick County Volunteer Training Facility for all to see. The individual will also receive a ribbon for their class ”A” uniform.
This year we proudly honor, the 2024 -2025 Recipient, Intern Madeline Praybe, of the Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department with this award. This is Madeline's first year attending the Frederick County High School Work Based Learning Internship Program. She will be a valuable asset volunteering with Frederick County Volunteer Fire and Rescue. This program is open to all Frederick County high school Juniors and Seniors and follows the school calendar yearly.
Congratulations Madeline for a job well done! |
