MISSON STATEMENT

" To safely provide Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services while educating, reducing risk and protecting our community in a professional, efficient manner with a well-trained, healthy workforce."

We are a dedicated workforce of volunteer and career firefighters, EMS clinicians, and paramedics who ensure our combination fire and rescue system continues its long tradition of high-quality, professional service to the approximately 300,000 residents of Frederick County. Across 669 square miles, we uphold the highest moral and ethical standards while protecting life and property with professionalism, enthusiasm, and unwavering commitment. Our 24 individual volunteer corporations’ partner with county government to form a strong, unified combination system.

We are the men and women of the Frederick County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association.  We volunteer for many different reasons, and many of our members work outside of public safety — but no matter what your career path, there is a place for you within our 24 fire and rescue corporations across Frederick County, Maryland. We are a proud organization with a role for everyone.

Our volunteers give their time selflessly to help others. They train hard, go above and beyond, and are ready at a moment’s notice when the call for help comes in. We are firefighters, emergency medical technicians, ambassadors, auxiliary members, and administrative personnel — all contributing to the success of our system.
