| As we reflect on the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Frederick County Volunteer Fire and Rescue honors the unwavering courage and dedication shown by responders across the nation. Among those who stepped forward was Micky Fyock of the Woodsboro Volunteer Fire Company, who proudly took Ladder 16 to the Pentagon to assist in the emergency response.
Micky’s actions along with other volunteers on that day exemplify the very best of our volunteer fire and rescue community—strength, readiness, and a deep commitment to serving others in times of unimaginable challenge. His willingness to respond without hesitation stands as a powerful reminder of the vital role volunteers play in our emergency services, both then and now.
