April is National Volunteer Month, and there’s no better time to explore opportunities that make an impact. At Frederick County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Services (FCVFRS), volunteers are the backbone of our mission — and we’re inviting motivated high school students to learn and grow with us.

Our High School Internship Program gives students hands-on experience, mentorship, and a chance to serve their community in a meaningful way.

To join us, students must: • Be at least 16 years of age
• Join one of our local volunteer fire/rescue corporations
• Be eager to learn, contribute, and explore future career paths

As an intern, you’ll have the chance to: • Learn from experienced fire and rescue professionals
• Build leadership, teamwork, and real-world skills
• Earn internship credit and service hours
• Discover exciting pathways in emergency services, healthcare, and public safety
• Make a genuine difference in Frederick County

This April, celebrate National Volunteer Month by stepping into a role that matters.

Learn with purpose. Serve with pride. Start your story with Frederick County Volunteer Fire and Rescue.

Ready to get involved? Contact us to learn how to join a local corporation and begin your internship journey.
