The Frederick County Volunteer Fire & Rescue Work Based Learning Program is now open for enrollment!

The Work-Based Learning program will assist building a highly trained career oriented young work force and address workforce needs. The program promotes occupational skills, provides experiences and credentials needed to enter or succeed in careers. By participating in work-based learning programs, businesses can “grow your own” talent by providing opportunities to develop skills that are needed to for difficult-to-fill positions.

Our Work-Based Learning program is for seniors at least 16 years of age and must be a member of a volunteer company. In addition, they must be able to provide their own transportation to obtain hands-on experience within fire and rescue in addition to passing a county paid physical.

Students interested in applying should use the attached forms below and work with their school mentor. Current volunteers should contact Volunteer Services if they have any additional questions using the email address on the brochure.
